FLOODING UPDATE:
Many of you have expressed interest in helping with animal rescue efforts.  We do appreciate your concern, but do not need any rescue volunteers at this time. With regards to the ranch horses that several others of you have inquired about -please know that they are now on dry land.

The shelter has taken in some pets that were displaced due to flooding, and will continue to do so as needed.

Please DO NOT call the shelter to inquire how various flood animals are faring - as we need to have our shelter phone lines available and open for real emergencies.

For those of you who are concerned and want to help and contribute to the efforts-
City of San Jose Mayor, Sam Liccardo, suggests donating for flood relief here:  https://www.siliconvalleycf.org/sjflood
The Red Cross is also a good place to donate, as they have been coordinating shelter efforts for human evacuees.  http://www.redcross.org/
Donations can also be made to the animal shelter, but be aware that funds may not necessarily be used directly for the animal flood evacuees but other shelter pets in need.  You can mail or bring donations to 2750 Monterey Rd, San Jose, CA 95111.  Checks can be made payable to City of San José. Thank you.
