Adoption Requirements

 

Persons wishing to adopt an animal must:

Be at least 18 years of age

*

Have current and verifiable identification

*

Live where pets are allowed

*

All members of household must be present for adoption

*

If planning to adopt, you must bring your current dog for on-site introduction

The City of San José Animal Care and Services Division reserves the right to deny adoptions in certain circumstances for cause.
