Adoption Information

$10 Adoption fee for all pets who've been at the shelter over 1 week

ACC is doing things a little different for the next few days. As a important presence in our animal community we want to be Proactive in helping protect our community from the spread of Canine Influenza - so we have taken 'temporary' measures to limit our shelter dogs exposure.

1. Visitors currently cannot pet our Adoptable dogs in their cages but can still view our available candidates through the window and meet them one at a time.
2. We have curtailed allowing owned pets into the building to visit and wander around with their owners.
3. We have temporarily stopped our Volunteer Dog Walking program so as to limit our dogs exposure to each other.

While we don't want to go overboard we do want to be as careful as we can, until this virus is no longer prevalent in the Bay Area.
We'd also like to advise all our ACC friends to contact their own veterinarians regarding flu vaccines for their own dogs - especially if they regularly come into contact with other canines
Otherwise it is business as usual with just a few precautions.

Thank you for your support

Animal Care Center Adoption Program
Our Animal Care Center has many wonderful pets to adopt. All are in desperate need of a loving home. If you are thinking about adding a new pet to your family, please consider one of our animals. We have friendly and knowledgeable staff available to help you choose a pet to best fit in with your needs and lifestyle.

Remember though, adding a pet to your family is a big decision. All animals require training and commitment. Some pets can live well into their teens and many may have special medical needs as they get older, such as medication, frequent checkups, etc., just like people. All these things, including the joy of having a loyal friend, should be factored in before you decide to take on this responsibility.

Adoption Requirements
To adopt an animal from the Animal Care Center, you must meet the following criteria:
  • You must be over the age of 18 years old and have a government-issued photo ID.
Adoption Fees
Dog and cat adoption fees include spay / neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping, and a one-year license. Rabbit adoption fees include vaccinations and microchipping.
