The Department of Transportation maintains and operates over 900 signalized intersections. Our goal is to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient traffic signal system for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. Most of the signals are connected to the city’s central traffic management system that allows for real-time monitoring and control of the traffic signals from a centralized location. A new state-of-the-art Traffic Incident Management Center (TIMC) facility is under construction and scheduled to come online in late 2014.
