Volunteer Position Title: SJACS Shelter Pal - "Clean Team" (Back End)

Location of Volunteer Assignment: 2750 Monterey Hwy., San Jose, CA 95111
Minimum Age: 18
What is fun and meaningful about this job? This position is truly a comfort to our homeless shelter pets. Clean laundry means our homeless animals can curl up on a clean, dry blanket of their own. Clean dishes mean our animals get reassuring nourishment while eating. Well-stocked areas mean that clean bedding and dishes doesn't get overlooked when things get busy. This role may not seem glorious, but it provides an immediate impact on reducing the stress on our animals and helps them cope with the unfamiliar environment.
DUTIES:
- Washing, drying and folding towels and blankets
- Cleaning and sterilizing food and water bowls
- Stocking kennel and adoption areas with clean laundry and dishes and other supplies
- Assisting kennel staff with limited assignments as needed during busy periods
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The volunteer must:
- Have a positive attitude
- Be dependable
- Have the ability to work independently
- Be willing to adhere to the policies and procedures as instructed
